New Staff at Sacramento Vocal Music!
I am proud to announce the addition of two new staff members at Sacramento Vocal Music!
First, we are gaining a new administrative assistant to our team. She is someone with whom many of you may be familiar: Jia-Min Rosendale.
Jia-Min will take over calendar scheduling and answering questions about SVM on August 1. To reach her, call the main SVM number at (530) 868-6786, otherwise known as 530-86-86-SVM. In addition to her new responsibilities in the administrative realm, she will also begin teaching theory class for singers. This first level will be for beginning students who have never had theory before. In January we will add an intermediate class that most older current students may take. Classes will be on Mondays. Jia-Min is an expert pianist, and has taught theory through her 88 Keys Academy for many years. She is also accustomed to teaching a variety of ages at one time. The class will be available for anyone eight and older.
Another new team member I am also extremely excited to introduce is Betsy Taloff, who will teach our Children’s Vocal Workshop. Betsy is a trained opera singer and loves teaching children. Her curriculum will prepare children to love singing and begin singing lessons when they turn eight, if they so choose. They will be taught breathing, pitch, posture, singing and movement, singers’ etiquette, and many other important parts of singing while learning fun songs and energetic activities. Two classes are available, including a class for children who are four and five, and a later class for our six and seven-year-old children. These classes, too, will be on Mondays.
All classes will begin on September 14, 2015. The children’s classes will have a small performance on the last day in the studio, which will be so much fun! Class sizes are limited, so please sign-up early.
For the Children’s Vocal Workshop, please call our instructor, Betsy, directly at (916) 216-7899 or by sending an e-mail to Betsy@SacramentoVocalMusic.com. This direct contact provides the instructor an opportunity to learn about your child before he or she arrives at class.
For our theory class, please call Jia-Min at the main SVM number (530) 868-6786 or by sending an e-mail to Jia-Min@SacramentoVocalMusic.com.
All the details on tuition, class times, and venue location will be available by August 1, 2015 on our website, http://SacramentoVocalMusic.com/
I am so grateful to both Jia-Min and Betsy for sharing their expertise and generosity with our SVM community. They will offer a marvelous addition to our curriculum for singers. Let’s begin!

Music is an integral part of our personal lives, our history, and our culture. When we choose to pursue singing as part of our career or to simply feel more comfortable singing along with the radio, it becomes very important that we find a teacher whom we can trust.
